Howell Photography – Family Portraits Cambridgeshire – Rose

We had some down time last weekend, as in not shooting a wedding. After meeting some lovely folk for weddings next year we headed over to nearby Hemingford Grey in Cambridgeshire to get together with friends and family. I had heard a lot about this little girl Rose and my goodness was she charismatic, absolutely charming. Those who know me in the photography world know that before we started to undertake weddings back in 2009 I used to photograph children both in schools and privately. Not the usual school photos with the awful mottled grey/blue screen but more editorial with the children running and playing. They were very popular with Mums. I chatted and played with Rose for a while and the more I watched her the more I felt compelled to get her in front of my camera. I popped home, collected our gear and my little brown vintage suitcase. As you can see Rose loved playing the little model. Most of what you see below was actually her playing up to the camera. After I got her to twirl and jump she then popped her hand on her hip like a grown up and looked straight down the lens. After this she then sat on the suitcase and again looked down the lens and waited for me to take the shot. Doug joined in as well and also took a few shots. Her Mum was thrilled at what we created and thought they looked like magazine shots, something we always aim for. We still fit in children’s photography and family shoots when we can, so please do get in touch if you are interested. Here are a few I particularly liked 🙂
