A blog for you today coming from the beautiful town of Amersham. Lydia actually was living in my area of Cambridgeshire when a friend recommended her to us. As soon as she saw our style of images she knew we were right for her. Lydia had in fact booked another photographer but although she was sure the photographer was competent enough to capture her wedding the style just didn’t sit quite right with her. After worrying for months she would be unhappy with the images she jumped ship to us. We were most happy to have this lovely couple on board and it was a pleasure to meet their family and friends. Lydia knows her own mind and decided to wear blush instead of white. The colour did really suit her and when she put it on I couldn’t actually imagine her in a traditional white wedding dress. Trust your style and vision of your photos and it will make you feel much happier on the day. Weddings can sometimes be such a huge affair and I have seen some Brides in my time feeling overwhelmed by the sense of occasion and not enjoy the day. We love a relaxed wedding and Amersham has a special place in my heart as I have carried out Portrait shoots there when on my training course back in 2009. I absolutely love street photography and we had two walkabouts one in the afternoon and because of the golden light we had to get them out again in the evening and this time I suggested the balloons. The reception was at the Crown Inn and the staff were amazing. Lydia and Keith had an Italian style reception and with the blissful heat that day we were transported there with the smell of lavender and gorgeous laurel entwined along the table. The lime-cello cocktails were just right for a finishing touch and a clever nod to Italy.
Congratulations on doing it your way xx
