Ruby’s Christening – Cambridge Portrait Photographer – Howell photography

First shoot of 2011 yesterday was Ruby’s Christening in nearby Godmanchester. You may remember seeing Tim and Leanne on my blog earlier for a maternity shoot. Well that bump was the most gorgeous Ruby Louise. I was in my element as I decided to approach the event in a storybook style just like I do for weddings. Starting with the lovely details and preparations with shoes and dress all in miniature you can’t imagine how much I loved capturing them. Ruby’s cake was a cup cake tower fit for a princess. I have to say the Cup Cakes were very good both in taste and the fact that they were some of the best I have seen. They were by The Sweet Kitchen in Hilton. Helens cakes are mainly based on American flavours and designs and as that is where the fashion for cup cakes first emerged they are in my opinion the nearest you can get to the real thing. I could not fault them at all. As you can tell I loved photographing them as they were just so perfect. The church service was really welcoming and relaxed, a sort of celebration of Ruby’s arrival as well as a traditional Christening. We all waited for Ruby to cry when she was baptised but she just lay there and took it all in. She was so good and content. After the service, we headed back to the function room at the Black Bull for a little party and everyone was in good spirits. It was just a lovely perfect day.
