Cambridge Wedding Photography – Alex & Louise – Emmanuel College – 09/07/11

Alex and Louise were married at Emmanuel College in Cambridge on Saturday. Doug and I often visit Cambridge as its practically on our doorstep. We love the general vibe of the city as well as the architecture, history and traditions. We were delighted to be asked to photograph this particular wedding as we have often passed by the college and chatted about the grounds and buildings making stunning backdrops for our images. Louise and Alex are such very nice people and we were pleased that we had a good connection with them both from the start. The chapel is stunning with its chequerboard floor, oak panelling, candles and huge chandeliers. Only couples who have attended the college are permitted to marry at the chapel. Alex and Louise met while studying and it was wonderful that they were able to return to Emmanuel College for their wedding. The reception and evening party were also held within the grounds, again in beautiful rooms. We were spoilt for choice when deciding where to photograph the portrait shots. We waited until almost sunset to catch the golden light which turned out to be worth the wait.

There was a wonderful warm, friendly and happy atmosphere at this wedding and it is clear that the couple are very close to their family and friends. The children were very entertaining. We loved the moment when they turned into mini photographers and also the little boy who decided to re style his hair with ice cream. It actually worked very well ! Here are a few of our favourite shots for you to enjoy.
