We were thrilled to be asked to photograph Sarah and Stuart’s wedding for several reasons. The couple are super nice, their friends and families were as it happened equally super nice. They were getting married at nearby St Mary & St Michael Church, Trumpington and the getting ready and reception was at the fabulously flamboyant Anstey Hall which is a venue we had always wanted to shoot at. Sarah was lucky enough to have a very good friend who is also a make up artist and a rather wonderful bridesmaid who stood and fanned Sarah to keep her cool while it was applied. The Church is literally walking distance and has it own private back gate to the church. Sarah and Stuart chose the hottest day of the year to get married, it was absolutely sweltering heat but Anstey Hall was a lovely place to just chill in the garden once the sun had gone down. It has a very relaxed vibe set amongst very grandeur surroundings and furnishings and we would highly recommend it whatever the time of year or weather. The Wedding breakfast was served in the beautiful blue and pink ballroom and the tables were awash with pink Stargazer Lilies. Every time I see the pictures I can still smell the perfume in the air. The same flowers carried on into the church. Sarah and Stuart chose the uber trendy Hummingbird Bakery in London to make their cake which was covered in edible Stargazer Lilies. It was amazing and tasted sublime with each tier being a different flavour. Other fab details were the knitted hearts which Sarah who is a prolific knitter made herself and also the shawls for the bridesmaids were fabulously hand made by Sarah. Another nice touch which the guests thoroughly enjoyed was the table in the hallway which had a little mini washing line and mini pegs. On the table underneath was a Fuji Instax camera and rolls of instant film. The guests were allowed free use to take pictures of each other and within minutes they were able to hang them on the line. We were really impressed with the quality of the little mini pictures that materialized. Great idea guys. The evening ended with a fab firework display which we stayed around to capture.
