Newborn & baby shoots in the comfort of your own home.

Karen carries OUT ALL of THE BABY SHOOTS herSELF AND ALWAYS WANTs TO ASSURE PARENTS THAT she DOesN'T NEED LOTS OF SPACE OR A PERFECT HOME.

"I KNOW YOU HAVE JUST GIVEN BIRTH. I can BRING ALONG EVERYTHING I NEED SUCH AS CLEAN blankets AND WRAPS or we can use your own if you prefer. I can also provide access to a beautiful baby wardrobe.

YOUNGER SIBLINGS WILL FEEL RELAXED POTTERING AROUND IN THEIR OWN HOME AND JOINING IN. I look for warmth, tenderness and connection to produce photos with heart. I feel overly posed baby shots are often missing that soul therefore i don't pose babies in baskets or buckets other than their own moses basket if they happen to have one. My newborn sessions are always Baby led. this simply means I will make sure I work around your babies and CHILDREN'S needs. You can stop feed and comfort your baby, change nappies or hand out snacks to older siblings. No rush no stress.

NEWBORN SHOOTS ARE IDEAL FOR BABIES FROM ONE WEEK TO THREE WEEKS. I DO ALSO Love TO CAPTURE OLDER BABIES so if you missed the first few weeks you can still have a shoot, As My style is natural and unposed I am not looking to put babies in different poses which are usually created in the early days when babies will remain curled and sleepy. In the unlikely situation your baby cries throughout the shoot I will return with no extra fee. I also have many tips to settle babies.

Why should I have a Portrait

shoot ?

Newborn photos are something that many parents like to have recorded professionly. You probably had a wedding photographer because it was a major milestone in your life, becoming a parent is equally so. It might be that a session in the first few weeks is all you want, alternatively, some couples want different first year stages. I am aware that everyone has a different budget and requirements. I also shoot Christenings, birthdays and children and families as they grow.

what age is best for a baby shoot ?

If you want those delicate curled newborn shots the best age is one to three weeks. Some couples want them as soon as possible so that they can send out announcement cards which I can help with. One to three weeks old is a good age for newborns simply because they tend to be more sleepy and more settled. alternatively, wait until the baby is able to hold their head up and smiling at about six weeks. I do offer special rates if you would like various different stages captured. Don't worry if your babies newborn skin has early milk spots. I will heal babies skin as part of the editing process ensuring that babies look natural but glowing. I do the same for Mums.

Where do the shoots take place ?

Newborn shoots are carried out in your home. Don't be put off if you think your home is not good enough for a shoot. I can work around different situations and rooms. It is the light that is important and I know from experience just where to find it in every home. Shoots on average take about and hour and a half depending on how well your baby is settled. If you are in Cambridgeshire and you really don't want to have the shoot at home, I can hire a gorgeous hotel room for an hour or two at a very reasonable fee.

Will you pose my baby ?

My style is for very natural shots and therefore I won't need to put your baby into various unnatural poses. I may suggest where to put your baby down and at which angle or gently move the blanket if it is riding up higher or lower than I want for the shots. I may like to reveal a tiny toe or hand but I leave the cuddles to you so that I can keep shooting and capture those heartwarming shots. Some of the sweetest and most natural shots are when babies are in their parents arms.

I want you to feel happy, relaxed and looking forward to the shoot.

My newborn wardrobe is available for the shoot if you wish.

step two .....

I will come along on shoot day and hang out with you for around an hour or so and capture some BEAUTIFUL heirlooms. over the next week i then polish and edit all the shots.

I can get a few shots ready quickly if you want them for announcements or to share on your socials. I then aim for the whole set to be ready in two to three weeks.

Step three ....

I hand over the collection on USB.
