Laura Ashley Hotel – The Manor – Wedding Photography – Emma & Tom

Emma and Tom were married in June of this year at the very pretty Laura Ashley Hotel in Hertfordshire. Laura Ashley recently purchased the Hotel which had been very dark before the companies interior designers got their hands on it and completely transformed it. Doug and I had lunch there a couple of weeks before the wedding and we made sure we had a good look around as it was a new venue for us. I was struck straight away by the light in the Hotel, it was decorated in creams and whites throughout with lots of mirrors and reflective surfaces and of course Laura Ashley prints. Emma had mentioned to me that as soon as she walked in she was absolutely sure this was the venue for them commenting on the light and freshness. I was hoping that the sun would shine for them so that they could use the gardens and they were not disappointed as it turned out to be extremely hot making for the perfect English wedding with the herbaceous borders full of summer flowers and cute children running and playing. Staying with the creams, Emma and Tom chose cream for their flowers apart from a very special red rose in her bouquet for her Dad who is sadly no longer with us, such a thoughtful touch. The flower girls were also in cream and the older bridesmaids in plum. Emma works for Ralph Lauren and I just knew this wedding would be styled perfectly and simply. What I didn’t know was how close their families would be. Hugs, tears and happiness for them and between them were just overflowing. It was a closeness that I cannot put into words. We came away from the wedding absolutely touched by the closeness and love on this day. We talked about it on the way home and were wondering what Christmas and other family times were like for them all. They were just like that, a true heartfelt family who I know will always be there for each other. During the ceremony, I couldn’t help notice the little things like the way Tom affectionately touched Emma’s bracelet and the way they looked at each other. Emma’s Mum had said in the speeches that when she first met Tom she knew he was a keeper and I can see why, they really do fit into each others families in the most amazing way. A great match.

Emma and Tom we wish you every happiness in the future and hope your families will always stay this close. Somehow I think they will Xx  ……………….
