Suffolk Portrait Photographer – Matilda & Isabel – Suffolk Shoot

Cambridgeshire Family Photography

In the summer, Doug and I met up with Helen, James, Matilda and Izzy for a shoot at James’s parents house and I had only blogged a sneak peek. This is where their gorgeous Barn wedding was held and it was lovely to be back again. I managed to get a few portrait shoots carried out in the summer and before I knew it we were locked down again. I really like to do inside and outside on a family shoot so that I can capture the family as they interact naturally in their home but it was impossible and outside keeping our distance was safer. With our longer length lenses it is very easy to social distance and still chat and encourage the children without being close. Lockdown has changed how I think of our business going forward. We still want to shoot a selection of weddings, we really do miss them but I am also very keen to shoot Portraits and I think the pandemic has demonstrated to all of us what family means, especially when we cannot be together. I have started to gravitate to more black and white imagery and more classic and timeless which is probably why I have a thing for more black and white. They are easier on the eye to have around the house or on walls as they fit in with any decor. On this particular shoot I was aware that Helen loves colour, her wedding was divine actually and she styled it beautifully but I did manage to sneak some black and white shots into this shoot as well. If you are thinking of a family shoot when we are all able to go back to work please get in touch. I am planning for some discounted rates to kick start the business for a short time so don’t miss out when you are all back together with your families.
